TXT CROWN Meaning — A Song About Loneliness and Hope

Hi fiction lover! October just arrived, and I’m riding the high of my recent trip to TXT’s Fukuoka concert. This autumn, I’ve been reflecting on a lot of things—my fiction musings, of course, but also my faith, mental health, and things that make me feel joy. A song that ties all of this together is TXT’s “CROWN.” If you haven’t heard it or watched the video, I’ll link it here. The Korean title is “어느 날 머리에서 뿔이 자랐다.” It means, “One day, a horn grew from my head.” Why does this song evoke so much for me? I’ll be happy to explore that with you. But first, what do you think about “CROWN”? This post is all about the TXT CROWN meaning. Maybe you have a lot to say about this debut song?

TXT CROWN meaning

Back in 2019, I experienced a breakup around the same time as TXT’s debut. At this point, I definitely felt like the boy with the horns that TXT mentions. These “horns,” or the differences that made me feel ashamed, ruled over my life. As I watched “CROWN” for the first time, I felt the sadness echo through me. The song may be upbeat, but the lyrics portray a person truly at a loss.

The song progresses to include another character—a boy with wings. Like the boy with horns, this character is also different. However, he has learned to embrace what makes him unique. This changes the original character’s view of the horns. Rather than something to be ashamed of, they are something to be proud of. Have you experienced anything like this? What do you think are your “horns,” and has your view of them changed over time?

Although there are many things I can label as horns, one of those things is my mental health. I was diagnosed with a chronic condition in 2014. Although I always felt my brain to be different, I wasn’t expecting this diagnosis. It felt like I had to reexamine and rebuild my world.

TXT’s “CROWN” begins their storyworld—about the pain of adolescence, and the power of a true friendship—a bond so strong that it could last through time and separation. Back in 2019, it captured me with its poignant message.

Why Reflect on This Song?

As I recently joined a writer’s group at my church, I began to reflect on why I write. I want to entertain and write stories that are interesting. But what else? I had to dig deeper. After my trip away from Hawaii, I found that I need to be more intentional about my writing, which means sharing my faith.

I wrote that I am a “friend of Jesus” when I was writing my author profile, publishing my debut novel. I would like to show that more in my writing. For me, that means starting my first-ever Christian fantasy romance novel. It also means posts like this one.

As I reflect on “CROWN,” I reflect on the only one who could ever be our true savior. Jesus’ message about redemption, his turning our faults into something glorious—that’s only something that he can do.

So yes, I still listen to “CROWN” and dance to the beat, while trying to sing along despite my pronunciation faults. I also look at it now through a faith-based lens. For the longest time, I was looking for a romance to save me, to truly banish my horns and make me into a happy person. But only God can do that.

Yes, there are people who give us hope in this lifetime, but the true message of hope is found in the gospel. I’m not saying I no longer long for love. But I am working on trusting in God to give my life meaning. After all, he is the one who gives us love for writing and stories. I want to ask: where are you in your journey of faith? I plan to share much more about my writing journey, but I’ll also be writing more about my testimony too.
