My Experience Meeting TXT: Freezing in Loveliness in the M&G

Hi, MOA! Getting right into it, I have a confession: I met TXT in March, and I’ve been dying to tell the story. I have nothing to talk about besides how lovely and kind the members of TOMORROW X TOGETHER are, and how much I felt like a proud fan. Meeting TXT has been my dream since 2019, so it’s been all I could think about all March and April.

Just a short note: I won’t be sharing any pictures from the M&G here! But I have a photo with Huening Kai and me on my Instagram if you’re looking for evidence, haha! I couldn’t resist putting the picture of us Hawaii-born guys on my profile picture.

Mistakes Were Made, No Regrets

I’ve been to TXT concerts before in the USA, Seoul, and Japan. But I’ve never once been in a standing section! When I signed up for standing seats, I had the thought that it would go seamlessly. After all, it was in Incheon, and I heard that concerts go very smoothly all around South Korea…

I was definitely underestimating how much energy being in the pit takes. I calculated a total of seven or eight hours that I had to remain standing. Starting from before the concert started, to getting the spots near the barricade, to remaining on your feet and waiting for the concert to begin. After the concert, you need to remain standing too until the meet and greet ends!

I don’t want to be negative, but I also don’t want anyone getting a pit section and not knowing what it entails. I loved my experience overall, but there were many times I was getting pushed near the barricade. At some point, I felt like I was going to fall over because I was off balance. And I witnessed a few people fainting and having to be pulled over the barricade.

Even though mistakes were made in terms of my expectations, the concert was absolutely gorgeous. I got to cheer with all my might, interacting with some of the members of TXT. I am about 99% certain that Soobin completed the other half of my heart! And just vibing with the members that I love so much with other MOA was a dream come true.

Even with aching legs, I would do it again. But now for the part you’ve been waiting for: meeting TXT up close!

Meeting TXT: What We’re Waiting For

After the electric concert, the M&G winners continued standing and had to wait for further instructions. We were taken outside to line up, then funneled back in a different entrance. We were back in the pit section, but all lined up around the perimeter.

Waiting, my heart felt like bursting. However, the members of TXT made their entrance through the stage and began to make their rounds.

The first member to reach me was Beomgyu, my bias.

Embarrassingly, a part of my worst fear came true. I’m a very shy person, and so in moments like this, I tend to freeze. I could hardly get a word out, but I managed to ask for a picture. I could not stop staring at him, and I had a hard time believing that my favorite radio host was actually in front of me!

Yeonjun was next! I mustered up all my courage and told him that I also love MapleStory, the iconic online game. Of course, I fumbled my words but I’m glad he understood what I was trying to say. He has such a natural charisma about him. I was properly starstruck.

Soobin came next and overwhelmed me with his care. He even took two photos with me instead of one! I could sense his warm spirit and his willingness to go above and beyond for MOA.

Taehyun came and said something to me in Korean! I did not exactly catch what he meant despite my studies, but when I go over my video recording (which I’m always nervous to watch), I will come back and leave it as a comment. He was very confident and sure of himself, and all I could do was thank him. (It felt like I was a thank-you machine, but I guess that’s not such a bad thing to be at a meet and greet).

The Hawaii-born member, Huening Kai, came last. I mustered up my last bit of bravery, and after our photo, I told him that I’m also from Hawaii. He seemed surprised and a little bit happy about that! I can’t believe I got an interaction with the musical prodigy himself. In a few minutes though, the meet and greet portion was over for me.

Wow… it’s true that the guys are handsome and tall. But it’s so surreal to see them in real life. Finally, I was able to tell myself: They’re human just like me. They get exhausted, yet they still manage to push through to give their all to the fans. Maybe I can be more like that, giving more of my passion in what I do every day.

Meeting TXT was an absolute dream. Thank you, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, for giving your fans hope and love through your music, performances, and all your lovely words. If there’s anything that I told myself in the month after the meet and greet, it was the continued determination to be the best MOA I could be. And that means being myself. A quiet fan, yet a constant support. I hope to remember this moment of meeting my favorite band—to remember the joy and inspiration behind that day.

I would also like to thank my MOA friends (and one in particular, who helped me a ton on the day of) for encouraging me to go through with the M&G. Not to panic too much, but just to be genuine. To my friend who came on the same concert day, I am forever grateful!

Did you enjoy my story about meeting TXT? Follow me on my blog for more things TXT! I am going to write many more pieces as a MOA. Keep loving the guys’ music with me, and let’s support their new releases with passion.
