MapleStory Mac Release 2025 🍄
To keep it short and sweet, we’ve been hit with a surprise release. If you are a Maple fan, you know that people have been asking for a Mac version since its release more than 20 years ago! Imagine my surprise when I saw that Maple has finally been released on Mac. Finally, we’re being given what we want! 🧙
The news post linked above will give you all you need to know about playing on Mac. To summarize, you have to go through the Nexon launcher, meaning you can’t play from Steam just yet. The requirements notably ask for 16 GB of memory, which might be a problem for some Mac users. But, it’s just golden that we can finally play with our Mac friends.
Also, a note that this is the beta stage. There will probably be bugs and roadblocks, but know that it’s not yet in its final form. For MapleStory fans, this is totally worth it. After all, we’ve been through many freezes and bugs in our lifetime as Maplers.

Nexon seems to be preparing for the huge MapleStory Classic World release with support from Mac rolling in. I feel that they’re preparing for a huge turnout and a global audience for the highly anticipated old school version. 🪄
But something cool is that Mac users can finally experience modern MapleStory—right now! I’m not a Mac user, but recently, I’ve been having a splendid time training new characters and seeing how much has changed in MapleStory after all these years.

You might get whiplash from all the changes!
But overall, if you try modern MapleStory, I’m thinking that you’re going to have a great time. The graphics and essence of MapleStory haven’t changed—a cute experience that can be as casual or as technical as you want. If you want to chase stats and boss monsters, you can do that. If you want to just stroll around in great fashion, progressing slowly, you can also do that.
MapleStory is your own story!
Some considerations: Take your time learning the new features. If you’re anything like me, you want to learn everything and figure out all the details. Take your time, and get used to the changes in modern MapleStory. There really is no rush. Don’t compare with how others are progressing.
For now, I recommend exploring the classes and not rushing to pick a main. You might be surprised to find out what new character you vibe with.
If you’re just waiting for MapleStory Classic World, I highly encourage you to still try out the modern version. The player base is still very active in GMS, and there are people willing to help. Can you believe that there are many players who have kept MapleStory alive for so long?
