Finding Our SANCTUARY with TXT — A Review

27.11.24 | fictiondipity.com | No Comments

Hi fiction lover! So about two weeks ago, we were blessed with a video on TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s official YouTube channel. It’s called Finding Our SANCTUARY, and let me tell you—this hit all my heartstrings. If you love TXT or even if you’re a casual fan, I think you might find comfort and joy in this video. Should we explore it together?

Watching Finding Our SANCTUARY | Our Story Rediscovered At Last

The video opens cheerily with the five members of TOMORROW X TOGETHER at a cozy fireplace setting. Can we appreciate whoever is decorating these lovely sets? Then, we find TXT entering one of their old “sanctuaries.” It’s a little restaurant next to their old company building. The aunties there greet the five guys warmly, and from there, we’re catapulted into nostalgia.

The members of TXT share their struggles as trainees, including saving their coin and having to rely on the free dishes that the aunties would give them. They ate simple meals back then, but they had enough to sustain them to chase their dreams of debut.

After the restaurant, they visit a cafe that they also used to frequent as trainees. The owner was also kind to them, and TXT remembers how he would give them two stamps for one on their coupon cards.

First, can we just appreciate how hard these guys worked for their dreams? I’m tearing up! The members—at the restaurant, cafe, and at the cozy fireplace setting—share how far they’ve come. One of those stories involves having to take a picture of the clock once they got home to the dorm. They had to play smart, and sometimes they would have a picture of a clock saved to send for proof.

The sleep deprivation was definitely real because the members talk about falling asleep everywhere and anywhere, even in the hallway on the way to school. Can you imagine finding a member of TXT passed out in the hall?

And there’s something I never heard before too. Huening Kai and Beomgyu were both threatened with the command to pack their bags! I could never handle that.

The struggle led to a marvelous debut. There are fans who are distressed about what they went through, and I definitely feel that way too! We can advocate for change within this system. At the same time, there are some things we don’t understand about Korean culture coupled with trainee culture.

Are You Inspired by TXT?

I recommend watching the video for yourself! I want to ask you the question: are you inspired by TXT or idols in general? You can’t deny their fierce work ethic, their dedication to showing up and giving their best. TXT says that they would do the three harsh years of training over again if they were to go back. They are dedicated to their craft, but also their fans.

For me, I know that I have a lot to work on in time management. I’ve been through so much with my mental health. So, for a period I wanted nothing more than to just lay down and escape through sleeping or napping.

When I feel like I need to sleep the day away, I remember TXT and their commitment to their dream. Sure, we are on different paths, but we are trying to do something meaningful and something that will help others.

As a writer, I want to share the love of God with others. I want to write stories that will help readers understand themselves. In some way, I am like the guys of TXT. So even though I didn’t have a harsh trainee period, we all have had some sort of training grounds for what we are going to accomplish in life.

What did the “trainee period” look like for you? For me, it was countless hours of trying to refine my voice in fiction, and also my nights trying to calm myself through prayer and remembrance of how far I’ve come in my mental health journey.

Because even though we might not be an idol, we have come quite far! Let’s take some time to reflect on our past—just like TXT in Finding Our SANCTUARY. Join me on my blog again next week! I have more to explore if you’re looking for someone to accompany you on your storytelling journey. Thank you for loving fandom, stories, and more with me.
